OFFICIAL CITY NOTICE - NEW DIRECTION FOR WILSON
Dear Residents of Wilson,
This letter serves as the first official communication of my administration as Mayor of the City of Wilson. The way our city has operated in the past is changing. Wilson will move forward with accountability and consistent enforcement of city policies. Delayed or overlooked issues will be addressed, and expectations will be applied equally to all residents.
One of several priorities moving forward is the City's water utility system. Effective immediately, past-due water accounts will be subject to enforcement action. Residents must either bring their account current or establish an approved payment plan with the City. Failure to comply may result in interruption of water service in accordance with City policy.
The City will also implement a new water billing system to improve accuracy and efficiency. As part of this transition, customers may be required to verify and update account information to ensure records remain current and accurate.
Another priority of this administration is improving the overall appearance and condition of the community. Residents are expected to maintain their properties in a clean and orderly manner, including keeping yards mowed, removing debris, and preventing the accumulation of trash or junk. Residents are also responsible for maintaining the area between their property and the roadway, including any curbs, and for keeping adjoining alleyways mowed, clean, and free of debris.
Improving Wilson requires accountability from both residents and city government.
I will be conducting a full review of City operations, including City Hall and every department. This review will focus on improving efficiency, accountability, and city services. Based on this review, the City will evaluate operational changes and the addition or expansion of departments and services as needed to better serve the community.
Residents should expect ongoing communication from my office regarding city operations, policy updates, and other important matters affecting the community.
Wilson is entering a new standard of accountability and responsibility. This administration is taking action to improve city operations, address ongoing concerns, and improve the condition and appearance of the community.
We are committed to building a community our neighbors are proud to call home.
Sincerely,
Adam Ramirez
